Northrop Grumman gets Dutch Air Force contract

Rolling Meadow, Illinois (ANTARA News/ap) - Defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp. said Wednesday its received a contract from the Royal Netherlands Air Force to provide a AAR-54 missile warning system for its CH-47F Chinook helicopters.

Under the terms of the multimillion-dollar deal, Northrop Grumman’s defensive systems division will provide eight missile warning system shipsets and spares to the Netherlands Air Force beginning in January and continuing through January 2010.

Specific financial details were not released.

The AAR-54 is a missile approach warning system now in production and available for use on a wide variety of aircraft including helicopters, fast jets, and tactical and wide-body aircraft.

Northrop Grumman shares rose 51 cents to $75.87 in morning trading. (*)
